Indian PM Modi left Dhaka

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi left Dhaka for New Delhi on saturday night after wrapping up his two-day official visit to attend the celebrations of the Bangladesh’s golden jubilee of independence and the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

A VVIP flight of Air India on boarding the Indian premier along with other entourage members, took off from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HISA) at around 9.30pm, a spokesperson of foreign ministry told BSS.

Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen saw the Indian premier off at the airport, he added.

Modi was the last among the five South Asian leaders to attend the Bangladesh’s grand celebrations.

During his visit, Modi held bilateral talks with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and meeting with President M Abdul Hamid.

The Indian premier also visited Bangabandhu’s mausoleum at Tungipara in Gopalganj, Jessoreshwari Mandir in Satkhira and a Matua temple in Orakandi.
