Education meet begins Friday

India offers 2000 scholarships

A two-day long Education Meet will be held at The Westin Dhaka from today. Indian High Commission Dhaka in association with Education Excellence will organize the fair. This was announced at a press conference at The Westin Dhaka on Thursday. Sandeep Goel, CFO of EdCIL India Limited & CGM - Study In India was the speaker at the press conference, said a press release.

The HOD - Study in India Sandeep Goel, said, “It will definitely widen the scope and opportunities for Bangladeshi students to learn more about Indian higher Education Institutions as their options to study abroad. And we will extend support to our international students and especially to the students of our neighboring country Bangladesh. It will surely strengthen the tie between two countries through these gateway, he added. 

Dr. Uttam B. Sapate, Executive Director (CP), EdCIL India Limited said: “There are 2000 scholarship opportunities for students. Meritorious Bangladeshi students will surely get SII Scholarships. The eligible students will also get the required support from Study in India."

‘Study In India’ is a flagship programme launched by the Ministry of Education (MoE), under the Government of India in 2018. The programme is designed to encourage the global student community to pursue their higher education in India.

 India is a hub of culture, technology, and innovation in constant development across multiple facets to keep up with the changing needs of the modern world. Among the rapidly developing sectors of the country is higher education. Ranked as the second-largest Higher Education System in the world, India boasts of over 45,000 colleges and over 950 universities.

 The advancements across various fields fused with the dynamic & diverse culture of the country makes India a great option for students seeking further education. Since its inception, Study In India has attracted students over 150 countries spanning across SAARC, Africa, South-East Asia, Central Asia, and the Middle-East.

 Organisers termed the Education Meet as an easy, student-friendly platform for students to explore, access and apply to premier Indian institutes offering degrees that are globally-accepted.

“Access to over 2,600 diverse course options inclusive of engineering, business, management, photonics, pharmacy, law, commerce, humanities & niche courses at various levels of diploma, under-graduation, post-graduation, doctorate of philosophy degree,” Dr. Uttam said.

 Over 100 partner institutes under Study In India programme are accredited by the Government of India through National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) and National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF)

 In India, there are 100,000 seats for international students including 2,000 scholarship and 60,000 tuition fee waivers from 25 percent to 100 percent.  Indian institutes offer scholarships up to 3500 US dollars per year to meritorious students which will cover tuition, hostel and mess fees.

 High Commissioner of India to Bangladesh Shri Vikram Doraiswami will inaugurate the Education Meet-2021 as the chief guest. The Education Meet-2021 will be open for all, & the Meet hour will be from10 am to 6 pm.
