Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader Sunday said BNP is the reliable shelter of the country’s communal forces. “Killer Mustaq had imposed an ordinance to stop the trial of Bangabandhu’s assassination and Ziaur Rahman had made the ordinance as an act. BNP is the most trusted shelter and safe haven of killers of August 15 carnage,” he said.
Quader was addressing as the chief guest a discussion arranged by Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) at Nagar Bhaban here marking the National Mourning Day and the 46th martyrdom anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
He joined it virtually from his official residence.
Chaired by DSCC Mayor Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh, the discussion was addressed, among others, by Dhaka City South AL President Abu Ahmed Mannafi and General Secretary Humayun Kabir and Dhaka-5 lawmaker Kazi Monirul Islam Manu.
Quader said, “Ziaur Rahman had rewarded killers of August 15 carnage, did BNP forget the incident?”
Those who wanted to erase the name of Bangabandhu from history, they are being effaced from the history, he said.
The minister said Bangladesh is marching forward towards prosperity under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina defying all conspiracies and hurdles.
He said August 15 carnage is one of the most brutal, barbaric and ruthless assassinations in the world’s political history.
Innocent and pregnant women and children were not killed in any other assassinations, he added.
With the assassination, the killers wanted to kill the soul of a newly independent state and ruin the pride of an independent state.
