Bangladesh on Wednesday recorded lowest number of deaths in 68-days as the country saw the demise of 17 people in the last 24 hours.
On 18 March, 16 people had died from the disease in a day and the daily death toll kept increasing since then until today.
Meanwhile, the infection rate dipped slightly to 9.11% in 24 hours after recording over 10% just a day before.
On Wednesday, 1,497 new cases were logged after testing 16,434 samples across the country, according to a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
With the latest figures, the number of total fatalities reached 12,458 and the case count stands at 793,693 in the country. The fatality rate stands at 1.57%.
Among the latest day's victims, 10 were men, and 7 were women. All of the victims died in different hospitals across the country.
