The fire that broke out in the third floor of a multi-storied building in the capital's Banani Chairman Bari area this morning has been brought under control. Duty Officer of Fire Service and Civil Defense headquarters Rozina Khanam told BSS that on information around 9.10am Saturday, 14 units of the Fire Service and Civil Defense rushed to the spot and started working to douse the fire.
“The fire came under full control around 1:05 pm,” she said adding that the cause of the fire and extent of the damages could not be known immediately.
However, no casualties were reported.
Mentionable that Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Banani Thana Nur-e Azam Mia confirmed that saying that various types of crests were made on the third floor of the six-storey building, where the fire originated.
