The interim government's chief advisor, Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus, said that there are irregularities everywhere in the country, but they seem to be more so in the hilly areas.
He made this statement while joining the discussion held at the Chattogram Hill Tracts Complex on Bailey Road in the capital on Wednesday to mark International Mountain Day.
The Chief Advisor said the forest and natural resources and opportunities in the Chattogram Hill Tracts are not available anywhere else in Bangladesh. It is supposed to be the most developed place in Bangladesh, but the opposite has happened. This is unacceptable. Irregularities occur more in all parts of Bangladesh, but in the hilly areas, it is a little more. We want to reduce it.
He said, next month there will be a youth festival, it should be a festival for everyone. I want to see the hilly districts being at the top of this festival. This is an opportunity to prove that the youth of the hilly areas are not behind other regions of the country. If there is any difficulty, let me know, and I will try to remove it. We also want to change the country, we also want to change the world with our work.
Dr. Muhammad Yunus said the hilly districts should be given the position they deserve. The children of the hilly areas will be global citizens. We will change not only our area, but the whole world.
