The Chief Advisor of the Interim Government, Dr. Muhammad Yunus, has stated that the interim government is committed to utilizing the opportunity for restructuring the state, achieved through the student and public movement.

He made these remarks on Thursday (November 21) at a reception ceremony for freedom fighters at the Army Multipurpose Complex in Dhaka Cantonment, held on the occasion of Armed Forces Day.

Dr. Muhammad Yunus said, "I am committed to fulfilling the dream of the freedom fighters, who fought for the independence of the country with the vision of a state free from inequality, exploitation, and one that breathes the air of welfare and freedom. We will maintain friendly relations with all countries. Our foreign policy will be based on mutual respect, trust, confidence, and cooperation."

The Chief Advisor continued, "On August 5, through the revolution of the student and public movement, we have started a new Bangladesh. In this new country, our responsibility is to unite all people as one large family. There will be differences in opinions, and there will be arguments. However, we will not be enemies with each other. We will not consider anyone an enemy for their opinion. We will not consider anyone an enemy because of their religion. We are all equal, we are all members of the same family. No one is above or below anyone else, and this concept is what we want to establish in our national life."

Dr. Yunus further emphasized that the interim government is committed to building a beautiful and prosperous Bangladesh. "We aim to shape Bangladesh in such a way that the people themselves are the source of all power. Through this, Bangladesh will be recognized globally as a humanitarian and welfare-oriented state."

Earlier, on Armed Forces Day, the Chief Advisor paid deep tribute to the martyrs of the armed forces who made the ultimate sacrifice during the Liberation War of 1971. After laying a wreath at the 'Shikha Anirban' (Flame of Immortality), he stood in silent respect for a moment to honor the martyrs. A salute was given by an elite squad from the Army, Navy, and Air Force, while a mournful bugle played. The Chief Advisor also signed the visitor's book placed at the memorial.

Upon his arrival at the 'Shikha Anirban', the heads of the three armed forces and senior officers of the Armed Forces Division (AFD) welcomed the Chief Advisor.
