Due to the failure of the government, the quota reform movement turned into a popular uprising. Sheikh Hasina left the country by resigning in that coup. After that, some of the ministers-MPs of the party have fled and some are in hiding. Several of them have been arrested and in remand.

Salman F Rahman and Anisul Huq were arrested on Tuesday in the murder case of Hawkar Shahjahan Ali registered at DMP Newmarket police station. Police produced them in court on Wednesday and remanded them for 10 days. They are now in DB custody. No accused has been named in the case in which they are on remand. However, BNP and Jamaat-Shibir leaders and activists have been accused as anonymous.

This influential adviser and minister of the newly outgoing government was arrested in a case filed on July 16 during the newly outgoing government. On the first day of remand interrogation, they blamed former Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal and Awami League General Secretary and former Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader for creating an undesirable situation in the country.

Sources in charge of DMP said that the crimes of the arrested are not limited to police cases only. Salman F Rahman was involved in many financial scams including the stock market. Anisul Haque has played a major role in giving legal legitimacy to many misdeeds of the government. Therefore, economic and legal issues are being given importance in their interrogation along with murder cases.

In the case in which Salman-Anisul Huq is shown arrested, they are not named as accused. Those who are shown as unknown accused of Ejahad are said to be people of BNP and Jamaat-Shibir. DMP Commissioner Mainul Hasan said that the case is a fast information report. The real truth will emerge only after investigation.

In interrogation, Anisul Huq said, 'After the student movement started in the country, I was going towards a solution. But it was not possible because of former home minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal and former bridge minister Obaidul Quader. They were very aggressive in suppressing the movement. Besides, the then Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina was also unable to understand the reality. Due to this, the movement went out of control at one point. While interrogating Salman F Rahman and Anisul Huq face-to-face, a DB official said, 'The present situation of the country because of your irregularities, corruption, and looting.' At that time, they were silent.

Ayesha Begum, the plaintiff in the case, said, 'My son was shot dead by the police.' We are poor people. I don't know how to study. We have not written the statement of the case. It was written by the police. I can't sign up even though I don't know how to study. The police only asked to sign the statement after writing it. So I signed the declaration. On the one hand, as we want justice for the murder of the boy, we also demand justice for the police officers who are involved in writing false statements.'

In this regard, Newmarket police station OC Aminul Islam said the victim Shahjahan died from the bullet. He had a bullet hole in his head.
