Twelve mobile courts of the district administration fined 51 people Taka 76,200 in different upazilas, including the district headquarters, for breaching Covid-19 safety rules and violating the conditions of the ongoing lockdown to prevent coronavirus infection.
According to the district administration sources, twelve teams conducted the raids in seven upazilas, including the district town, and fined 51 people Taka 76,200 for not wearing masks, not maintaining social distance and moving outside without any reason.
Executive magistrate of the district administration and upazila executive magistrates of the seven upazilas led the operation teams in last 24 hours, Nezarat Deputy Collector (NDC) of the district administration Md. Azhar Ali said.
The mobile courts also distributed masks free of cost among the poor and helpless people.
Nezarat Deputy Collector (NDC) of the district administration Md Azhar Ali told BSS that the number of coronavirus infected people is increasing each day as people are reluctant to maintain health guidelines.
The district administration is conducting mobile courts to create awareness among the people about the spread of COVID-19.
The mobile court will continue to prevent anti-lockdown activities, the NDC added.
