Nearly 300 students were injured in clashes between Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) members and quota protesters on the Dhaka University campus on Monday.
According to an official at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH), 297 injured individuals received treatment at DMCH until 6pm. Of them, eleven students were admitted for further care.
Additionally, there were incidents of pursuit and counter-pursuit between Chhatra League activists and demonstrators on the DMCH premises.
In response to the clashes, a significant number of police officers have been deployed on the campus.
Law enforcement personnel were observed taking positions at Doyel Chattar and beside Dr. Muhammad Shahidullah Hall.
The police stated that the university administration requested their presence to help calm the situation.
