3 of the 11 migrants who died crossing the sea to Italy are from Madaripur. 11 people killed in that incident including these 3 people from Madaripur were staying in the engine room of the sunken trawler.

They are Ali Howladar of Shivchar in Madaripur, Sabbir and one more friend of theirs. Their families are mourning. Relatives of the deceased demanded to be brought back to the country.

On Tuesday (June 18), 51 people were rescued alive in this accident in the Mediterranean Sea. 64 people, including 26 children, are still missing. The passengers were crossing the sea in an engine-powered boat to Italy via Libya.

It is known that Ali Howlader, son of Yunus Howlader of Khankandi area of ​​Shibchar municipality of Madaripur, recently arrived in Libya via Dubai. He failed to cross the Mediterranean once before.

Romena Akhter, the wife of the deceased Ali Howladar, said that Ali used to run his family by riding an easy bike while he was in the country. Ali chose Libya to turn the wheel of fortune. In the hope of the prosperity of the family, he spent about 15 lakh rupees and traveled to Italy. The family has a 6-year-old son and a one-year-old daughter. Now running the family will become a responsibility.
