Interior Advisor Lieutenant General (Retd.) Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury
252 SI has been dismissed not because of political identity, but because of indiscipline, said Home Affairs Adviser Lieutenant General (Retd.) Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury.
He said this in response to a question from journalists at the secretariat on Tuesday (October 22).
When asked what kind of breach of discipline the Home Advisor said, Sarada Police Academy can tell about the breach of discipline. There can be many types of discipline. It doesn't matter. The new circular has been given and the recruitment will be done soon.
He said that the political identity of the instigators in any movement should be investigated. Care must be taken to ensure that top terrorists who are out on bail do not indulge in further crimes. The recovery of illegal weapons was discussed. A significant amount of weapons were recovered.
Incidentally, 252 sub-inspectors (SIs) out of 823 trained at Sarada Police Academy in Rajshahi have been dismissed on charges of indiscipline. Additional DIG (Media) Masudur Rahman confirmed this information on Tuesday.
He said that 252 people are being 'discharged' from their jobs due to indiscipline during training. It is in process. The letter is being issued. Apart from this, these 252 people have been sent on compulsory leave since October 17.
He also said, 'There was a discussion to improve the law and order situation in the country. Regarding any claim, the committee appointed by the government should be discussed with the committee. When going to rally on the streets, there is a lot of chaos including traffic jams. Everyone suffers. In order to remove the public suffering, if the meeting is held at Suhrawardy Udyan instead of Shahbagh intersection, the public suffering will be reduced a lot. For this I will request everyone to use Suhrawardy Udyan instead of Shahbagh.'
Regarding the upcoming Ijtema, Jahangir Alam said that there was a discussion about the Ijtema being held smoothly. It would be better if the two Tabligh groups could resolve the matter themselves.
