22 awarded ‘Agriculturally Important Person’ status

A total of 22 people have been awarded ‘Agriculturally Important Person’ (AIP) status in recognition of significant contribution in the field of agriculture. 

The AIP Awards which is valid for one year have been given to 22 people in 5 categories.

Agriculture Minister Dr. Md. Abdus Shaheed was present at the Osmani Memorial Auditorium on Sunday (July 7) while presenting the award.

State Minister for Expatriate Welfare and Foreign Employment Shafiqul Rahman Chowdhury was the special guest in the program under the chairmanship of Agriculture Secretary Wahida Akter.

In the event, it was informed that these 22 people have been selected in 5 categories in recognition of their important contribution in the field of agriculture in the light of AIP policy-2019. 

The gazette has already been published in the name of the selected persons.

AIPs will get the same benefits as CIPs. 

The benefits are - a certificate from the ministry, entry pass to enter the Bangladesh Secretariat, invitations to civic receptions at various national events; Seat reservation priority in government-run public transport during travel by air, rail, road and water; Priority will be given to get cabin facilities in government hospitals for treatment of self and family members and use of VIP lounge at airport.
