The Covid-19 pandemic has hit Brazil as hard as anywhere else in the glove, and Neymar Jr has felt the impact of that with his institute being forced to close since March 2020, however he has maintained the jobs of the 142 employees, Marca reported.

The Neymar Jr institute cared for 3,000 underprivileged young people in Praia Grande prior to the pandemic, but with the institute not being able to function, Neymar has kept his commitment to paying the salaries of all 142 workers in full, keeping their health coverage plans intact too.

The cost of this is rumoured to be around 90,000 euros per month and the plan is to keep these payments in place for as long as the crisis continues.

“My family and I are maintaining the entire structure, with 142 employees, who are receiving their salaries and benefits in full. We have done it with our own resources,” explained Neymar's father.

“The jobs and salaries of the people who work in our instate are insured regardless of the duration of the pandemic.”

According to the Coronavirus Resource Centre at Johns Hopkins University on Saturday, Brazil is third in terms of infection and second in terms of death. 138.32 million 455 people have been affected in the South American country. 368,749 people have died. 121.63 crore 831 people have recovered.
