Bangladesh’s globe-trotting all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan has taken leave from Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) to play in Indian Premier League (IPL). The BCB has granted the application. In other words, Shakib will not play Test match for Bangladesh national team against Sri Lanka to play in IPL.

He could not play in the IPL for a year due to the ban. This time the opportunity has come again. Former franchise Kolkata Knight Riders has bought Shakib Al Hasan for Rs 32 million. The 14th edition of IPL is scheduled to be held in April-May.

At the same time, the Sri Lankan cricket team may visit Bangladesh. The tour is scheduled to feature two Test matches. Shakib will not play those two Test matches due to IPL. However, he is scheduled to play in the ODI series against Sri Lanka.

Shakib regularly misses various series or tournaments in Bangladesh due to injury one after another. In the last few years, it seems to have become regular. Surprising but true, Shakib recovered when IPL came and he played this domestic tournament in India. It can also be a coincidence.

This time he is injured too. He injured his left thigh during the Chittagong Test against the West Indies. That is why he could not play the second Test in Dhaka. It is also uncertain when he will recover. In the next few days you will see the face of the third child. That's why Shakib has already applied to the BCB to stay by his wife's side. As a result, the best cricketer in Bangladesh has not went to tour of New Zealand.

If there is Shakib, the strength of the team will increase much higher. If not, the team becomes weak. Evidence of which has been seen in the Test series against West Indies this time. Where the Bangladesh team had to be whitewashed.

Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) Cricket Operations Committee Chairman Akram Khan has confirmed that Shakib Al Hasan has been given leave. He told the media that Shakib had already verbally asked for leave. A day before receiving the green signal from the BCB, he officially sent a letter via e-mail to Cricket Operations.

Akram Khan said, ‘Shakib wants to play T20 at the moment. Doesn't want to play Tests. He has asked for leave for IPL. We also think that if someone doesn't want to play, there is no point in forcing him to play. So the board has decided to give leave to Shakib.'

Akram Khan also said that there has been a long discussion in the board about Shakib's leave. It was then decided to give him leave. An unnamed BCB official told, "The board thinks that even if Shakib is forced to play in the Tests, he will not get the highest service from him." But we also understand that it will set a bad example.

The IPL schedule has not been finalized yet. However, the tournament usually starts in April and runs throughout the month of May. Meanwhile, the Bangladesh cricket team will exchange two tours with Sri Lanka. The Sri Lankan team will come to Bangladesh in April to play a two-Test series.

Then in May Bangladesh team will go to Sri Lanka to play three ODI series. Although the schedule of the two series is not final yet, the series that will be in April-May is final. However, even if he does not play in the Test, Shakib will play the ODI series, he told the BCB.
