Harry Verweij, Ambassador of Netherlands to Bangladesh, has inaugurated the latest expansion of the Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP) of the Kalurghat factory of Unilever Bangladesh at Kalurghat, Chattogram on Thursday.
The Ambassador was accompanied by Senior Advisor, Economic and Commercial Affairs of the embassy, said a press release. While, Kedar Lele, Chairman and Managing Director, Ruhul Quddus Khan, Supply Chain Director, Siddharth Nandy, Factory Director and Shamima Akhter, Head - Corporate Affairs, Partnerships & Communications of UBL respectively were also present.
Harry said, “This is a great opportunity to visit Kalurghat Factory of UBL, which carries historical value with it. As delightful, as I am to witness KFG’s actions and ingenuity on how the factory is managing its environmental impact and ensuring safety of the environment and its people.”
Established in 1964, the first soap manufacturing facility of Unilever embarked on its journey in Kalurghat with the intention of bringing hygiene and cleanliness in the consumer households.
