Subatas on remittances, 20 thousand 600 crores came in 24 days

Remittance flows fell in July amid anti-discrimination protests. However, soon after the fall of the Sheikh Hasina government, the flow of remittances began to slow down. In the first 24 days of August, 171 crore 83 lakh 30 thousand US dollars remittances have arrived in the country through legal channels. Out of this, from August 4 to August 10, 387,120,000 US dollars came and from August 11 to 17, 651,400,000 US dollars came, from August 18 to 24, 584,100,000 US dollars came.

This information is known from the updated report published by the central bank on Sunday (August 25).

After reviewing the data of the Central Bank, it was found that the amount of remittances received in the country till August 24, 276.9 million dollars through state-owned banks, 6.4 million 10 thousand US dollars through a specialized bank, and 137 million 77 million dollars through private banks. 90 thousand dollars and 32 lakh 30 thousand US dollars remittance came through foreign banks.

According to the data of the central bank, the remittances on the 24th day of August were more than 30 percent more than the same period of the previous year. In August last year (2023), remittances came in 132 million dollars in 24 days.

In the first month of the fiscal year 2024-25, July, remittances of US$ 191,358,000 have arrived in the country. Which is lowest in previous 10 months. Earlier in September 2023, remittances came in at $1.33 billion.

197 crore 31 lakh in July, 159 crore 94 lakh in August, 133 crore 43 lakh in September, 197 crore 14 lakh in October, 193 crore in November, 19912 crore in December, 211 crore 31 lakh in January, 216 crore 45 lakh in February , 1997 million in March, 20442 million in April, 22538 million in May and 25416 million in June.
