Deputy Governor Nurun Nahar will serve in the absence of the Bangladesh Bank Governor.
The matter was informed in an office order signed by Afsana Bilkis, Deputy Secretary of the Finance Ministry on Sunday (August 11).
Due to the resignation of Bangladesh Bank Governor Abdur Rouf Talukder, the Deputy Governors of Bangladesh Bank will carry out their daily activities in their respective fields to continue the daily activities from August 11 until the new governor joins.
Deputy Governor Nurun Nahar will look after the Governor's daily mail and send it to the concerned department.
On July 2, 2023, Nurun Nahar took over as Deputy Governor of Bangladesh Bank. Before joining the post of Deputy Governor, she was Senior Executive Director of Bangladesh Bank. She joined Bangladesh Bank as Assistant Director in 1989 and was promoted to Executive Director in 2019.
