Motorcycle accidents are frequent in Nilphamari. Thousands of lives are being lost in these accidents. Many families are losing their parents. Many parents are losing their dreams of losing their children. Voluntary organization Vision-2021 has started public awareness to prevent such motorcycle accidents in Nilphamari. Asaduzzaman Noor, Member of Parliament for Nilphamari-2 (Sadar) constituency inaugurated the week-long program at Chowrangi intersection of the city around 12 noon on Sunday.

At the time, MP Noor said, ‘Every road accident happens due to lack of awareness. Just as we lack the knowledge of traffic laws, we also lack the sense of responsibility. We almost see him riding a motorcycle on the road, no one obeys him. Must know and obey the traffic laws of the country. Only then will he save his life from the accident’.

He added that every death in an accident is extremely painful. Great loss to family, society and country. Nayan Roy, a schoolboy who was killed in a motorcycle accident recently, said that every child of that family today feels his emptiness. Battery-powered easybikes, rickshaws and vans run on the road. The drivers of these vehicles are not trained. Due to the incompetent drivers of these vehicles almost all the accidents are happening on the road, people are losing their lives. It will be the responsibility of the traffic department as well as the municipal council authorities to control it. The municipality does not have to stop with the license of these battery-powered vehicles, it has to take training measures for everyone.

Wadud Rahman, chief coordinator of the organization presided over the awareness meeting while special guest speakers were Rabia Alim, Member of Parliament for reserved women's seat, Superintendent of Police Mohammad Mokhlesur Rahman, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Overall) Azaharul Islam, District Awami League General Secretary Mamtazul Haque and Chairman of Sadar Upazila Parishad.
