Wife files GD against Murad

Wife of disgraced state minister for information and broadcasting, Murad Hassan, on Thursday filed a general diary (GD) against him, alleging of attempted physical violence.

DrJahanaraEhsan lodged the GD with Dhanmondi Police Station, Sub-inspector Ansar Ali said. DrJahanara, around 5:00 pm yesterday, called the emergency number 999 and sought police assistance, saying "her husband, Murad Hassan, was about to beat her up."

Receiving the phone call, a team of Dhanmondi police rushed to Murad's house at Dhanmondi Road 15 in Dhaka.

Additional Commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (Dhanmondi zone) IhsanulFerdaus said that Murad's wife filed the GD -- also alleging that her husband was threatening her.

Dhanmondi Police Station Officer-in-Charge Ikram Ali Mia also confirmed the matter.
