Tigers set to start T20 WC preparations with Australia series
Bangladesh Cricket Board’s (BCB) cricket operations committee chairman Akram Khan confirmed in the cricket-based website Cricbuzz that Australia will visit Bangladesh before New Zealand for the T20I series as a preparations for the T20 World Cup.
According to the schedule, New Zealand was scheduled to visit Bangladesh in late July to play a three-match T20 series. After that, Australia was supposed to come to Bangladesh to play an equal number of matches. However, due to the change of plan, Australia is set visit Bangladesh before New Zealand.
“Australia will come to Bangladesh after playing with West Indies in late July or early August while New Zealand will follow them later,” he said.
Australia will come to Bangladesh in late July or early August after the series against the West Indies. After that New Zealand will tour Bangladesh in the same month.
Meanwhile, BCB is planning to add two more matches with the three-match T20 series against Australia. However, it has not been finalized yet, said the chairman of the BCB’s cricket operations committee.
Meanwhile, before the T20 World Cup, the BCB had planned to organize a tri-nation T20 series with Australia and England. Bangladesh are also scheduled to tour Zimbabwe in June for a full series consisting of two Tests, three ODIs and three T20Is.
