Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has returned home after attending various events including the swearing-in ceremony of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the third term.

He landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Monday (June 10) around 7:30 pm.

Earlier, the Prime Minister and her entourage took off from New Delhi's VVIP airport Palam Air Force Station at 4:45 PM local time on a special flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines.

India's Foreign Ministry Secretary (East) Jaideep Majumder, Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Pranay Verma and Bangladesh High Commissioner to India. Mustafizur Rahman bid farewell to the Prime Minister at the airport.

On this day, Indian Congress Party leader and Rajya Sabha member Sonia Gandhi, her son and Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi and Indian National Congress Party General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi met Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. Apart from this, the Prime Minister had a courtesy meeting with Sri Lankan President Ranil Wickremesinghe.

Narendra Modi and his cabinet members took oath as the Prime Minister of India for the third consecutive term. Sheikh Hasina and Narendra Modi held a private meeting at Rashtrapati Bhavan on Sunday (June 9) afternoon. In the meeting, the two leaders expressed hope for strengthening the existing bilateral relations in the coming days.

In a brief meeting, the two leaders inquired about each other. Modi then accompanied Sheikh Hasina to the Rashtrapati Bhavan banquet hall and attended the dinner at President Draupadi Murmur.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina along with her daughter Saima Wazed attended the oath taking ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhavan. Top leaders of Sri Lanka, Maldives, Bhutan, Nepal, Mauritius and Sicily also attended Modi's swearing-in ceremony.
