The overall economic picture of the country will be known every month

The Ministry of Planning has taken the initiative to bring out a publication on a monthly basis. Through this, the overall economic picture of the country can be known at a glance.

Recently, Planning Minister Abdus Salam held the first meeting of the National Statistical Advisory Council for the fiscal year 2024-25. In the meeting, significant activities related to the current government's election manifesto, 2024, statistics and information management department and Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics, project progress of the National Strategy for the Development of Statistics project funded by the World Bank, progress of the Economic Census-2023 project, various reports related to population census and household census and Socio-economic and demographic survey data, transformation of BBS into an international standard institution, Quick Win poverty measurement as a smart initiative, progress towards 50 years of Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics were discussed.

Planning Minister said, a publication initiative will be taken on a monthly basis. Through this, the overall economic picture of the country can be known at a glance. In the future, the Department of Statistics and Information Management and the Bureau of Statistics will play a more effective role in the country's development plans.
