That 13 and a half kilometers is suffering on the way back

People are returning to work after sharing the joy of Eid. Some leave their families at home and some take them with them. As on the way back, there is suffering on the way back. Since Saturday, the pressure on passengers and vehicles has increased on the Dhaka-Tangail-Bangabandhu Bridge highway. The 13-and-a-half-km section of the road from Elenga to Bangabandhu Bridge East, which was seen as a thorn in the neck, has brought suffering to the passengers and drivers.

Even on Sunday (June 23) afternoon, severe traffic congestion can be seen on the Dhaka-Tangail-Bangabandhu Bridge highway.

It can be seen on the ground that the traffic jam has been created on the highway from Bangabandhu Bridge east to Kalihati's Pauli. Unfit vehicles break down, accidents, excess vehicle pressure, four lane work is going on, this traffic jam has occurred since early morning. Passengers and drivers are suffering in extreme heat.

Due to the traffic jam in this direction, the north-bound vehicles from Dhaka are moving one-way from Elenga to Bangabandhu Bridge. Apart from this, Dhaka-bound vehicles are plying via Elenga Link Road from the east side of Bangabandhu Bridge via Bhuyapur.

In this regard, Mir Mohammad Sajedur Rahman, in-charge of Elenga Highway Police Outpost, said, 'There is still a queue of vehicles from Elenga towards Bangabandhu Bridge which started from early morning due to excess traffic pressure, accidents, ongoing work on four lanes and vehicle breakdowns. We are trying our best, the police are working tirelessly to return people to their destination without any problems.
