Taposh urges traders to close shops by 8 pm
Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) Mayor Barrister Sheikh Fazle Nur Taposh on Wednesday urged businessmen to shut down their shops by 8 pm in order to stem the spread of COVID-19. “As the Corona infections are in rising trend again, all should close their shops and business establishments by 8 pm,” he said.
“We have issued a public notice…If we close all the shops by 8 pm, the infection will be reduced and we will be able to play an effective role in making Dhaka a clean and hygienic city,” he said.
Taposh made the call while talking to reporters after inspecting Bangladesh Boys Club ground at Gopibagh in the city, said a press release.
Chief Executive Officer of the Corporation ABM Amin Ullah Nuri, Chief Waste Management Officer Air Commodore M Badrul Amin and Chief Engineer Rezaur Rahman, Secretary, among others, were present.
