Taposh orders to evict illegal installations over Rampura canal
Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) Mayor Barrister Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh Wednesday ordered the concerned authorities to evict an illegal installation over Rampura canal in city's Meradia Bashpatti area.
While out on a regular weekly visit, the mayor made a stopover at the probable site of 'Meradia-Aftab Nagar Link Bridge' near Meradia Bazar this morning and noticed the illegal structure over the canal, said a release.
He immediately told the workers to stop construction and instructed DSCC Chief Property Officer Rasel Sabrin, to free the Rampura canal from illicit deployments.
Later, the mayor visited Fakirkhali canal by boat to see the existing situation and gave necessary directions to the concerned officials to protect it from encroachment.
DSCC officials including executive officer Farid Ahmed, chief waste management officer Air Commodore Sitwat Naeem, chief engineer Saleh Ahmed, secretary Akramuzzaman, chief revenue officer Ariful Haque, regional executive officer Soye Men Joe, supervising engineers Khairul Baker and Kazi Borhan Uddin, chief urban planner Sirajul Islam, councilors of the respective wards and local Awami League leaders were present, during the visit, it added.
