Later in the afternoon, the police arrested the six accused with the cooperation of DU's proctorial team and students.
According to the statement of the case, on September 18, around 8:30 pm, a young man was suspiciously roaming at the gate of Fazlul Haque Muslim Hall of Dhaka University and was detained by some students. First, he took the mobile phone to the guest room of the main building of Fazlul Haque Muslim Hall and the students slapped and punched him. When asked at that time, he said his name was Tofazzal.
Realizing that he was mentally ill, he was taken to the canteen of Fazlul Haque Muslim Hall and fed. Later, Tofazzal fell unconscious when some unruly students took him to the guest room in the south building of Fazlul Haque Muslim Hall, tied his hands behind the window and beat him with stamps, hockey sticks and sticks.
When the matter was reported to some resident teachers of the university, Tofazzal was taken to the hospital with their help. Later, when the young man was taken to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital, the doctor conducted the necessary tests and declared him dead at 12:45 on the night of September 19.
