Special allocation for tourism sector demanded
Politicians, academics and labour leaders on Saturday demanded special allocation in the proposed national budget for 2021-22 for reform of the tourism sector of Bangladesh which was heavily affected due to Covid crisis.
Addressing a discussion meeting, they also called on the government to form a separate ministry for the tourism sector for rapid expansion of tourism.
Bangladesh Tourism and Hotel Workers Employees Federation organized the discussion at the National Press Club in Dhaka where the federation convener Mohammad Rashedur Rahman chaired.
Labour leader and Socialist Party of Bangladesh central leader RazequzzamanRatan said that the tourism sector of the country was seriously affected during the corona regime.
He demanded special allocation in the proposed budget for fiscal 2021-22 for the developments of the tourism sector.
