Shah Rukh Khan to team up with daughter Suhana for ‘King’


Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan had a blockbuster 2023 with three global hits, but the actor isn’t slowing down. After lot of back and forth, Shah Rukh has locked his next film titled “King”. The actioner will mark the big screen debut of his daughter Suhana Khan.

Shah Rukh was previosuly rumored to be attached with “King” in an extended cameo, with Suhana taking more of the center stage. But as things stand today, the script was worked around to have SRK in the lead role, sources said.

Recent details reveal that Sujoy Ghosh and Siddharth Anand are collaborating to craft a raw, high-octane action flick, “King”, with an impressive budget of Rs. 200 crores.

A source close to the entertainment portal Bollywood Hungama that “King” is envisioned as a groundbreaking action movie, surpassing all expectations. The creative team has devoted the past year to meticulous pre-production planning, focusing on script development, the film’s scale, and its action sequences.

The source shared with the portal, “King is an ambitious action film, unlike anyone’s imagination. The team has been working on the pre-production for the last one year to ensure that all aspects are covered in the right way – from script, to scale and action. Red Chillies Entertainment has always mounted world-class products and King will be no different as the banner is going all out to ensure a grand debut for Suhana Khan.”

The insider also revealed that Siddharth Anand is engaging with renowned stunt coordinators from abroad to join the ‘King’ team. “Siddharth Anand thinks internationally, and with SRK, he wants to make a global action thriller. He is designing stunts with the stunt experts from the West, and plans to shoot it as a hybrid of real action and VFX enhancements,” added the source.

The filming of ‘King’ is scheduled to commence in May, over a span of five months, with plans to premiere the movie in the latter half of 2025.
