Shadman misses first round of NCL


Bangladesh opener Shadman Islam has been ruled out of the first round of National Cricket League (NCL) as he was tested positive in the Corona Test before the tournament. He has been away from the national team due to an elbow injury for a long time, he was scheduled to return to cricket with the NCL. However, he missed the first round as his team Dhaka Metro faced Barisal Division on Monday.

The opener of Dhaka Metro submitted the test sample on March 19. It is known from the test report that he was positive. However, he gave samples again on Monday for testing. He has not yet received any report.

The cricketer told the media about his condition, “I didn't have any symptoms. However, I am not playing for being positive in the first test. Hopefully I can play in the second round. Pray for me.”

If the results of the test taken on Monday comes negative, Shadman can play in the second round which is slated to start on March 29.

Apart from Sadman, Test captain Mominul Haque also tested positive in the first corona test. However, he is playing a national league match today as he got negative result in the second test.
