We have pinned our hopes on auto save, yet sometimes several hours of work progress and all our efforts get wasted within the blink of an eye when we do not save our documents manually. The struggle is real when we cannot recover the file. Even after recovering the file sometimes we can see that big chunk of the workings are missing from the document.
Changing the auto save frequency can save us from certain situations. To change how frequently recovery files are saved we need to follow these 3 steps:
1. Go to File > Options > Save
2. Under Save documents, type a number into the Save AutoRecover information every box.
3. Select OK.
Change where to save AutoRecover files in Word
1. Go to File > Options > Save
2. Under Save documents, type or browse to a path in the AutoRecover file location field.
3. Select OK.
