Red carpet rolled out as Indian PM Narendra Modi arrives
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina received her Indian counterpart at the airport by presenting a flower bouquet
A red carpet has been rolled out as Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived on a two-day official visit.
A special flight, carrying the Indian prime minister, landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HISA) around 10:30am on Friday.
It is the Indian prime minister’s first tour to a foreign country since the Covid-19 outbreak last year.
The Indian premier became the fifth among the world leaders to attend the celebrations of the golden jubilee of Bangladesh’s independence and the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
Maintaining the health guidelines due to pandemic Covid-19 outbreak, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina received her Indian counterpart at the airport by presenting a flower bouquet, while a 21-gun salute heralded the state guest’s arrival.
