Quader asks BNP to come back to pro-people politics

Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader Monday urged the BNP to come back to the politics of the welfare for the people instead of looking for alternative ways for capturing power. “BNP should do the politics for the welfare of the people… there is no alternative way which would help them to capture state power,” he said.

Quader, also general secretary of the ruling Awami League, made this appeal to the BNP leaders while addressing a press conference on contemporary issues from his secretariat office here this morning.

Calling the BNP to take necessary preparations for participating in the next general elections as per the constitution, the ruling party leader said the BNP again has started lobbying with their foreign masters, but it will not bring any benefit to them.

Accusing that the BNP is day by day being separated from the people, Quader said “The  people after all are fully confident to the development politics unleashed by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.”

Opposing BNP leader Mirza Fakhrul’s alleged statement that termed the ruling party as anti-people, anti-state and anti-liberation he said “BNP leader Fakhrul’s such statement is nothing but a mockery with the people.”

“BNP already has been identified as the anti-people party for their anti-state politics, negative activities and corruption”, he said.

Talking about BNP’s struggle for bringing back democracy, Quader said they must have to bring back democracy in their own house, saying that the countrymen want to know how they will establish democracy in the country while there is no  democratic practice in their party.”
