Probe report against Dr Sabrina Aug 4
A court in Dhaka on Thursday fixed August 4 for the submission of the investigation report against Dr. Sabrina Sharmin in a case filed over national identity (NID) card forgery by the Election Commission (EC).
Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate’s Court set the new date, confirmed the general registration branch of the concerned court on Thursday.
Meanwhile, Gulshan Police Station Election Officer Mohammad Momin Mia filed the case against Sabrina on August 30. The court granted a two-day remand to Dr. Sabrina on September 3. After remand, she was sent to prison on September 14. She is currently stationed in prison.
Meanwhile, the court of Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge KM Imrul Kayes granted bail to Dr. Sabrina Sharmin with Tk 20,000 bond in the case filed by the Election Commission (EC).
However, she could not be released even after getting bail over the case filed for giving false reports of the Covid-19 test.
It is to be mentioned that Sabrina showed “less age” in one of the two NIDs, as a result, her two NIDs were blocked. The Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) has sought information from the Election Commission (EC) for details after the matter came to light, according to EC sources.
Sabrina got her first NID as a resident of Mohammadpur in 2009 and got her second NID as a Badda resident by falsifying information.
