Pop artist Jane Alam is no more


The artist of the famous song 'Ekti Gondhomer Lagiya' Jane Alam has died.

Musician Jane Alam, who has been in the limelight since the 80s, breathed his last at around 9:30 pm on Tuesday.

Mazharul Islam, chairman of music production company Laser Vision, confirmed the news.

Mazharul Islam said, “Jane Alam was admitted to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University after being affected with covid-19. Although he recovered from the corona, his illness led to pneumonia. He was placed on life support today after his condition deteriorated. But the last was not saved."

Despite having the pop title, most of Jane Alam's songs are in the modern style of the spiritual-rural genre. He has various popular songs including 'School Khuilachere Maula', 'Ekti Gondhomero Lagiya'.

In an interview, he said that his fame spread after the release of his first album 'Banamali' which was a long play.

The number of songs sung by him is about four thousand. There are also about three thousand songs written, composed and directed by him.
