Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina called upon the public to stand against those who are wreaking havoc on development activities of government.
She made this call while visiting Mirpur-10 metro rail station which was damaged by miscreants during the quota movement on Thursday (July 25) morning.
Prime Minister said that the countrymen should stand against those who are destroying the development of the government. Those who have committed this violence should be judged by the people of the country.
She said, 'What kind of mentality it is to destroy the structures that make people's lives easier? Although Dhaka city stuck in traffic jam, metro rail given relief. I cannot believe that someone destroyed this modern transport like this.'
Sheikh Hasina also said that it will be ensured that the common people can reach the work place smoothly. Efforts will be made to make the country financially prosperous. Bangladesh gained freedom after a long bloody war, it cannot fail.
Before this, there were attacks on the capital's Mirpur-10 and Kazipara Metrorail stations last Friday afternoon. The station's CC (Closed Circuit) cameras, LED monitors, ticket machines and other important equipment were vandalized. Many valuable things were looted. Later, the metro rail authority formed a committee to assess the extent of the damage.
Later, Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL) said that it may take at least a year for Mirpur-10 and Kazipara stations to be operational.
