Pilkhana carnage will be re-investigated: Home Affairs Adviser
It cannot be said at the moment – whether a commission will be formed to investigate the Pilkhana carnage or not. However, this will certainly be re-investigated, says Home Affairs Adviser Lieutenant General (Retd.) Md. Jahangir Alam.
He said these after visiting Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) headquarters on Monday (November 4).
The Home Affairs Adviser said that the BGB has been instructed not to make any concessions on the border to protect the peace of the country. They also have been informed that no unjust order should be obeyed.
He also said that the BGB must maintain good relations with the local people while performing their duties. They are the ones (local people) who help BGB in various ways.
Regarding BGB’s position to prevent Rohingya intrusion, the Home Affairs Advisor said that intrusion has been banned, however, there is a “humanitarian side”. There is shelling in that belt all day long. But they are sent back, not many Rohingyas can enter. 12 lakh Rohingyas has already extended to 13 lakh. Still, some are coming in, but they are being sent back.
