Picnic of joy
On the occasion of Children’s Day on Monday, 4th October. A non profit organization named Whisper Of The Heart (WOTH) distributed food amongst the needy and helpless children living in the Ramna Park and Suhrawardy Udyan area of the capital.
Approximately 50 children were given food on this event called ‘Nagar Choruibhati’. More than an event, that was considered as a picnic with those kids. Sanjida Parvin, a founder of this organization shared about her interests and plans for the future.
When asked about the main motive of the organization, Sanjida said, "Our motive is to break the typical taboo of society about child abuse and their mental health. Parents in our country don't take children's mental health in seriously. When they get physically and sexually abused by someone, they don't get the courage to share it with their parents as they were taught that it's a forbidden thing to talk about. They suffer from these kinds of trauma for their whole life without telling anyone about their sufferings."
She shared about her feelings after hosting their first charitable event. "Honestly, at first I didn’t expect much from this event. But time to time I came to realise the power of my Core members, secretary board members and CO. They gave their level best to make this event successful. I won't say that we didn’t face any obstacles, for collecting funds we did everything and some didn’t show interest and some didn't even bother to response. But I am glad, I have found some people who willingly helped us in the funding. After completing the event successfully I felt blessed." she replied.
Speaking about her team of mostly teenagers and with no financial support how she would like to organize more charitable events in the future, she stated. "I don't think financial problem would be a real issue when I have manpower. It is actually an advantage to have majority of teenagers in our organisation. Their talents are now fresh to use, their ideas are selfless and profitable for the society. They are so energetic, honest and have clear vision to change the society." She also expressed her pure desires to do more for every children of this country. The vision is clear, no children should suffer in silence.
