Passenger bus torched in Malibagh area
A bus of Turag Paribahan was set on fire by unidentified miscreants in front of Malibagh police box in the capital. The incident took place around 11:45am on Saturday, reports media.
Panicked passengers broke the window glasses and jumped off
the vehicle when the bus caught fire. Some passengers sustained minor injuries
reportedly.
Hatirjheel police station Sub-Inspector (SI), Abdul Alim
told the Media that a fire broke out in an Uttara-bound passenger bus named
Turag Paribahan at around 11:45am on Saturday.
"Police personnel stationed there brought the fire
under control with the help of locals," he added.
Bangladesh has been witnessing protests by Islamist and left-wing parties over the past few days against Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Dhaka visit.
