Only honest officers in the army are eligible for promotion: Chief Advisor


Officers with honest, ethical and other qualities of leadership are the ones who deserve higher promotion, said the chief advisor of the interim government. Muhammad Yunus.

He said these things in the chief guest's speech at the official inauguration ceremony of 'Senasdar Election Board-2024' at the Army Headquarters on Sunday (October 6).

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) informed this information in a press release.

In the event, the Chief Adviser remembered all those who died in the anti-discrimination student movement in the month of July-August with deep respect. Besides, he remembered all the brave soldiers including the martyrs of the armed forces and the army who participated in the great war of independence.

The Chief Adviser directed the members of the Selection Board to emphasize professional competence, leadership qualities, standards of discipline, honesty, trustworthiness and loyalty and above all, suitability for the job of the officers for promotion.

The Chief Adviser said that Bangladesh Army stood by the people of the country at the time of crisis and saved the country from an unstable situation by expediting the process of forming an interim government.

"As a result, the Bangladesh Army has once again been recognized as a symbol of trust by the people of the country." Dr. added. Muhammad Yunus.

According to ISPR, in this promotion board of the first phase, the eligible officers of the rank of colonel and lieutenant colonel of the Bangladesh Army will be considered for the next promotion.

In the valuable speech of the promotion board, the chief adviser welcomed everyone to the new Bangladesh, soaked in the revolution of the students.

Earlier, Chief of Army Staff General Waqar-uz-Zaman welcomed the Chief Adviser when he arrived at the venue; Special Assistant to the Principal Adviser on Defense and National Integration Development, Chief of General Staff and Principal Staff Officer of the Department of Armed Forces.

Chief of Army Staff General Waqar-uz-Zaman expressed his gratitude and thanks to the Chief Adviser for inaugurating the Election Board despite his busy schedule.

The defense secretary was present along with the senior officers of the army in the inauguration ceremony of the headquarters election board.

 

At the end of the ceremony, the Chief Adviser participated in a photo session with the army officers present and recorded his comments in the inspection book.
