No more than 1 lakh rupees can be withdrawn from the bank today

Nobel laureate economist Dr. The swearing-in of the interim government headed by Muhammad Yunus will take place on Thursday. For that, for the sake of security, the limit of withdrawing money from the bank has been imposed today. No more than one lakh cash can be withdrawn from one account. But this decision will be applicable only for today.

The bank's managing directors or MDs gave this instruction in an urgent message on Wednesday night. As per the guidelines, a customer can transfer any amount of cash and do digital transactions even if he cannot withdraw cash.

It is known that after the change of government, the pressure to withdraw cash increased a little. There is especially pressure to withdraw cash from pro-Awami politicians and business families. Bangladesh Bank has decided to discourage the withdrawal of cash so that these funds are not used in any way for terrorist or illegal activities. In continuation of this, Bangladesh Bank announced this decision last night.

Apart from this, the central bank has ordered to stop disbursement of money from the head office to the branches for today. Besides, customers are encouraged to pay by check.

An official of Bangladesh Bank said that there is no government in the country and a new government is being formed today. This decision is so that no one can create an unstable environment with cash at this time.

The managing director of a private sector bank, who did not want to be named, said that this decision should have been taken earlier. Cash pressure has already built up. As a result, this pressure will be alleviated to some extent.
