National mourning day observed in Kansai
Japan's Kansai Bangladesh Awami League observed the 47th martyrdom anniversary and national mourning day of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman with due dignity. A discussion meeting was held on Monday to mark the day at the Toyonaka City Life Center auditorium in Osaka.
The members of the organization performed the national anthem at the beginning of the program. After that, a minute's silence was observed in memory of Bangabandhu and his family members who died.
Kansai Bangladesh Awami League President Abu Sadat Md. Sayem presided over the event. Under the direction of General Secretary Md. Harun Or Rashid, State Minister of Social Welfare Ministry Md. joined virtually from Bangladesh as the chief guest. Ashraf Ali Khan Khosru.
He said that the creator of the world's only linguistic and ethnically-based country, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the greatest Bengali of all time, was brutally killed by some criminal families through a national and international anti-Bangladesh conspiracy. It was the worst massacre in history. August 15 is a tainted day in the history of world humanity. The most painful day for the Bengali nation.
He also said that General Zia declared all illegal and unconstitutional laws, including the Indemnity Ordinance, as valid laws in 1979 through the Fifth Amendment, which was completely unconstitutional. In that amendment it was mentioned that the validity of these laws cannot be questioned in any court. The governments after August 15 did not allow Bangabandhu's murder to be tried because of the Indemnity Ordinance. They not only stood up for murderers but also rewarded them. The government of Zia, Ershad and Khaleda gave jobs to the murderers in various embassies of Bangladesh abroad, including ambassadors.
He said, Bangabandhu did not give us only political or geographical freedom. He gave groundbreaking constitutional, legal and policy decisions for the economic, social, cultural emancipation and progress of Bengalis. He implemented many of these in a very short time. Under his leadership, the Constituent Assembly of independent Bangladesh presented a world-class constitution within just ten months. No state in the world could have made its constitution in such a short time.
Bangladesh has turned around today under the leadership of Bangabandhu's privileged daughter Sheikh Hasina - Bangabandhu's Bangladesh is a role model for development in the world today. Bangabandhu's Bangladesh today has reached the level of leadership in the world by the hand of his privileged daughter Sheikh Hasina. This Bangladesh is a rising star, this Bangladesh is indomitable, this Bangladesh is fearless. Ashraf Ali Khan Khosru added.
In the president's speech, Abu Sadat Md. Sayem said, August 15 is a painful day. 47 years ago today, on this day in 1975, a hellish murder chapter was added to the history of Bangladesh. The greatest Bengali father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and most of his family members were killed on that day. Children and pregnant women were not spared from that murder. The killer's bullets have claimed 26 lives.
He also said that only a few murderers have been sentenced in the August 15 incident. But all the culprits behind the most brutal murder in the country's history should be brought to light. Even if they are dead, their responsibility and position must be determined for the sake of historical truth. It is necessary to form a national commission for this. This is the urgent demand today.
In the speech of the special guest, the member of the advisory board of the organizing organization, Mohammad Aminur Rahman said, today the sound of the slogan of Joy Bangla is being chanted from house to house in Bengal. The sky and air of Bengal has become free of taint. The legacy of Bangabandhu's blood under the leadership of his privileged daughter, Bangladesh is free from hunger and poverty today, Bangladesh stands tall as a role model for development in the world.
Masudul Hasan, a member of the advisory board, said that the anti-national conspirators who killed Bangabandhu and his family tried to erase his name from history, those who stopped the slogan of Jai Bangla, those who showed arrogance that the murder would not be prosecuted, their trial under the steel-strong leadership of Bangabandhu's daughter Sheikh Hasina.
General Secretary Md. Harun Or Rashid said, Bangabandhu and Bangladesh are two names, one history. one and the same. It is impossible to imagine Bangladesh on the map without Bangabandhu. Bangabandhu, the father of the nation, the best Bengali of a thousand years, the architect of Bangladesh, Biswabandhu (Friend of the World) etc. it is evident what he has done for Bangladesh.
