Bangladesh batsman Mushfiqur Rahim is all set to miss the upcoming two-match Test series against West Indies. He suffered a fracture in the tip of his left index finger while keeping wickets in the first ODI against Afghanistan in Sharjah and later was ruled out of the ongoing three-match ODI series.
It was learnt that Mushfiqur's recovery would take at least four to six weeks and as a result he is in doubt for the Test series in the Windies, beginning on 22 November.
Mushfiqur had opted out of Bangladesh's last Test tour of West Indies in 2022 to perform Hajj.
Following two Tests, Bangladesh will also play three ODIs and as many T20Is against the West Indies and it is understood that Mushfiqur will travel with the team to be part of the ODIs as he had already retired from shorter-version cricket.
Meanwhile, Liton Kumer Das will be flying to the UAE to be with the team, but not as a replacement for Mushfiqur.
