Motiur was removed and new directors were appointed in Sonali Bank
The appointment of a new director has been ordered immediately after the removal of National Board of Revenue (NBR) member Matiur Rahman from the board of directors of Sonali Bank.
Additional Secretary of the Finance Department of the Ministry of Finance Mohammad Abu Yusuf was appointed to this position of the bank for three years.
On Monday (June 24), the Financial Institutions Department of the Ministry of Finance gave this order to appoint new directors in a letter.
According to the letter given to the Chairman of Sonali Bank, the Additional Secretary of the Finance Department of the Ministry of Finance, Mohammad Abu Yusuf, has been instructed to take the necessary actions, including the approval of Bangladesh Bank, to appoint him as a director in the Board of Directors of Sonali Bank Plc for a period of three years from the date of joining, as per the provisions of the Bank Companies Act, 1991. Requested.

Earlier, Motiur Rahman was relieved from the directorship of the state-owned Sonali Bank by the Financial Institutions Department. On Sunday (June 23), he was transferred from the National Board of Revenue (NBR) to the Internal Resources Department.
According to the notification of the Ministry of Finance, BCS (Customs and Excise) cadre officer Matiur Rahman has been removed from his current post and attached to the Internal Resources Department.
Incidentally, Mushfiqur Rahman, son of Matiur Rahman, bought a goat for Tk 1.5 million from Sadiq Agro in Mohammadpur of the capital on this year's Qurbani Eid. Apart from this, it was reported in social media and mass media that he bought cows worth Tk 70 lakh from various farms in Dhaka. Since then, media inquiries have revealed the huge wealth of Matiur and his wife and children in their names. Later, the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) came into the field to investigate.
