Monowara Sikder has been elected as the Chairman of the country's first private and traditional National Bank Limited.
Freedom fighter Zainul Haque Sikder, one of the pioneer businessmen, passed away on 10, February at a hospital in Dubai while undergoing treatment. On his death, the post of chairman of the National Bank became vacant. Mrs. Monowara Sikder, wife of the late heroic freedom fighter Zainul Haque Sikder, was unanimously elected as the Chairman for the next three year at the 443rd board meeting of the Bank on Wednesday.
At the beginning of the meeting, ASM Bulbul, Managing Director of the Bank read out condolence motion in remembrance of the late Chairman. Haque Sikder, managing director of the bank informed all that Zainul Haque Sikder wanted everyone to accept Mrs. Sikder's decision after him. At that time, everyone respectfully remembered the contribution of the late heroic freedom fighter Zainul Haque Sikder and expressed his determination to be by the side of the new chairman. Mrs Sikder concluded the meeting by thanking everyone and urging them to work together for the fulfillment of the dream of the late chairman.
