Mirza Abbas secures bail in six cases


A Dhaka court on Monday granted bail to BNP Standing Committee Member Mirza Abbas in six cases.

Dhaka Additional Metropolitan Magistrate Md Sultan Sohag Uddin also rejected his bail petition in three other cases filed with Paltan and Ramna model police stations after a hearing.

On February 1, BNP Standing Committee Member Mirza Abbas, currently in custody, was officially arrested in nine cases filed with Paltan and Ramna model police stations.

The courts of Dhaka metropolitan magistrates Rajesh Chowdhury and Md Sultan Sohag passed the order after holding hearings.

On January 24, Mirza Abbas's lawyers applied for his official arrest in the cases and bail hearings. 

Detectives arrested Mirza Abbas on the night of October 31 in Shahidbagh, Dhaka, in a case filed over sabotage. He has been in jail ever since.
