The government has allocated responsibilities among cabinet members for conducting the parliamentary business of various ministries in the 13th Jatiya Sangsad.
The Cabinet Division issued a gazette notification in this regard on Monday.According to the notification, signed by Cabinet Secretary Nasimul Ghani, the designated ministers will perform the assigned responsibilities in parliament until further orders. It also specifies who will perform the parliamentary duties in the absence of the ministers concerned.Prime Minister Tarique Rahman will oversee the parliamentary affairs of the Prime Minister’s Office, read the notification.
In his absence, the responsibilities will be performed, in order, by Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed, Women and Children Affairs and Social Welfare Minister AZM Zahid Hossain, and Industries, Textiles and Jute, and Commerce Minister Khandaker Abdul Muktadir.
Afroza Khanam has been assigned charge of the Ministry of Food. In her absence, Fisheries and Livestock and Agriculture Minister Mohammed Aminur Rashid will perform the duties in the Jatiya Sangsad.
State Minister for Information and Broadcasting Yasser Khan Choudhury will perform the parliamentary duties in the absence of Minister Andaleeve Rahman.
M Rashiduzzaman Millat will oversee the parliamentary affairs of the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism. In his absence, State Minister for Land and Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs Mir Mohammed Helal Uddin will perform the duties.
In addition, State Minister Mir Mohammed Helal Uddin will perform the parliamentary duties in the absence of Minister for Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs Sa Ching Prue.
The order takes immediate effect.
