Martyrs' commemoration meeting not taking place on September 14: Adviser Nahid
As the full list of those killed in the anti-discrimination student movement has not been completed, the commemoration meeting of the martyrs to be held on September 14 has been postponed, said Nahid Islam, adviser to the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.
He gave this information in a press conference organized at the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting conference room on Thursday (September 12) afternoon.
At the time, he said, the Ministry of Health is preparing the list of victims. So far 728 martyrs and 20 thousand 263 injured have been reported. However, the death toll may increase. As the list is not finalized, it has been decided to postpone the memorial meeting to be held on September 14.
Adviser Nahid Islam said about the expenditure of 5 crore taka, 'It will be for 5 crore taka, the matter is not like that. It has been asked to limit the expenditure to five crore rupees. The cost of bringing the families of many of the injured or killed from outside Dhaka and staying in Dhaka for one night will be paid from here.'
