Mamtaz next to people

Today (May 5) is the birthday of Mamtaz Begum, the Folk Queen and Member of Parliament of Bangladesh. However, like last year, she has no excitement about this birthday, no interest in expressing happiness. Because even at this time like last year, people not only from Bangladesh but also from different countries are dying by Covid-19. So she said that she will be by the side of general people on that day. Mamtaz said she would extend a helping hand to them.

Momtaz said she would hand over relief from the government relief fund and also from her own funds to the helpless people in her constituency in Manikganj. So she will spend her birthday with mass people.

Mamtaz said, “There is no excitement, no joy in birthdays. It is true that many people are greeting me through various social media including Facebook. Many people also greeted by calling on their mobile phones, doing it out of everyone's love. This is a very big achievement for me. I consider it the greatest achievement of human love. Because I know what I was, where I am today by the infinite mercy of God. No matter how I live, no matter where I live, I have not forgotten my roots, I have not forgotten my past, I have not forgotten those who were behind my becoming today. I have not forgotten the common people in my area. Therefore, I will distribute the money given by the Hon'ble Prime Minister among the common people even today in this revolution of Corona. I don't think about myself, I think about the common man behind my becoming today. I consider their silent prayers for me as a great achievement for me.”

Meanwhile, Mamtaz Begum has recently been awarded the honorary degree of Doctor of Music from a university in India. She was awarded this honour for being the only musician in the world to record more than eight hundred albums, to present Bengali music to the world for a long period of thirty years, to appreciate it and to modernize folk songs. Meanwhile, Mumtaz Begum has sung again to the tune of Belal Khan in Hashibur Reza Kallol's new movie 'Bondhu'. She is very optimistic about this song.

Momtaz Begum has won the National Film Award for her singing in 'Nekabbarer Mahaprayan', 'Satta' and 'Maya the Lost Mother'. She sang the opening song of Mir Sabbir's government grant movie 'Raat Jaga Phul' to the tune of Emon Chowdhury.
