'Litton's slow innings puts Bangladesh under pressure'
Liton Kumar Das has been off-form for the past few months. However, in the first match of the World Cup, he got a run. This tiger batsman scored 36 runs off 38 balls. Although the run is not big in T20 cricket, his innings has played a special role in the team's victory.
However, former Tigers captain Tamim Iqbal did not like Liton's slow innings. Tamim said this in Cricinfo's show time out after the match. According to him, Litton's innings has put pressure on the team.
Tamim said, I think Liton should have played a little more aggressively. He seems to have saved himself. Which I personally did not like. Such an innings puts pressure on the team. I'm not just talking about a specific person. Speaking to our entire batting unit.
T20 is a game of aggression. The visitors expect big shots from the batters. Such is the demand not only for the audience but for the miniature version of cricket. The more aggressive the batters, the more the team's collection and chances increase. The role of openers is very important there.
Bangladesh lags behind in this place. The openers are repeatedly failing and increasing the pressure on the middle order. The reflection of which is clear in the Sri Lanka match. Bangladesh sweated to win the target of 125 runs. Liton Das scored 36 runs off 38 balls while Mamuli chased this run in the T20 trial.
Tamim said about the victory of Bangladesh in Star Sports, the victory was very necessary for Bangladesh. Lost the series to USA. The cricketers were mentally broken. This win will boost their confidence.
